It is important for parents to understand which one they are dealing with in order to be sure that they can afford the up front fees if the particular organization wants the annual fee instead of the commission. Both options have advantages and disadvantages, and this will be primarily a personal preference choice on the part of the parents when it comes to the modeling career and resources for the baby model in question.

Baby modeling can be slightly stressful. Because of this, it is important that the baby not only have the looks and cuteness that the job demands, but also the stamina and disposition. No matter how cute they are, if they cannot handle the stress or otherwise are incapable of working with the individuals that would need to help the modeling shoot go off smoothly, they will not be able to get consistent work because of their temperament. This is not a negative character aspect on the part of the baby; it just means that modeling may not be their calling, at least not at this particular juncture.
If successful, a baby model will typically be able to get paid at least $150/hour when it comes to doing print ads for retail stores and similar types of commercial print model work. If a parent continues to pursue a modeling career for their baby it is important to remember that babies change very rapidly. As a result, it is not necessary to spend too much money on the baby’s portfolio since it will need to be redone on a regular basis. This does not mean that it should be unprofessional, but the truth is that the baby will likely need to have their portfolio updated every couple of months in order to keep it current.
